Calvary Chapel Living Hope is a part of the fellowship of Calvary Chapels founded by Pastor Chuck Smith in Costa Mesa, California. CCLH began as a "church plant" by Brian Brodersen out of Calvary Chapel Vista in 1995. Services commenced on Resurrection Sunday at the Oceanside Senior Citizen Center. The Lord sent us out with two verses, Matt. 16:18 and 2 Pet. 3:18.
"And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it." (Matt. 16:18)
"but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
(2 Peter 3:18)
In the first verse Jesus gives His disciples instruction on how He (not man) is to build His (not their) church. In the following verse we see Peter growing up strong believers by feeding them with the grace and knowledge of Jesus.
